Molars

My poor little Molly is teething. She is getting her molars in-ouch! I feel so bad for her, you can tell she is miserable, runny nose and all. I turned Baby Einstein on for her to distract the pain, and this is what I saw :( How sad! I've never seen her lay on the floor like this, poor girl! Anyway, hopefully it is over soon. And luckily the baby Motrin kicked in and she was back in better spirits.

Fixed

I have this black dress that wasn't supposed to be dried in the dryer that unfortunately was dried in the drier making it shorter. It wasn't way short, but short enough that it bothered me, so here is what I did. I added ribbon to the bottom. Simple, fast and easy! Oh and cheap-- with my 50% off coupon at JoAnn's!

Two Part Post

Part One
First up is the Petal Knot Apron Dress. I told you I got the pattern, well now I have the dress! I was planning to wait like a month or so to make this dress, seeing as it is still very cold here in UT, but I just couldn't resist! And once I started I couldn't finish. So here it is!

The Bodice--

The Apron--

The Dress--
To die for, right? I absolutely love it! Soon I'll post a picture with Molly wearing it. Now for the next part.

Part Two

Ok, so this video was taken a couple of weeks ago I believe. Molly is such a little talker. She chatters and jabbers all the time. My mom thought we needed to record some of her little "sayings" and I agreed. So here is one of her favorite things to say: goy-da-goy. Yep, don't know what that means, but she seems to. You'll notice I say it as well, encouraging her :)

Shopaholic

Yesterday we had a girls day with my sisters and mom. Most of us have read the Shopaholic books and my mom's reading it right now (but she admits it is a bit silly and may not finish...lol). Anyway, I had no expectations for the movie, because with books you can get really disappointed because movies are hardly ever as good as the books are!
But this was a great, fun, entertaining, funny movie. The actors really all did a good job. There wasn't anyone that really bothered me playing a role, so that's a plus for sure. And Isla Fisher did a fantastic job.
Please DO NOT take your hubby/bf to see this, because he will NOT like it. But it's definitely a fun girls night out type movie and we all enjoyed it!
It really doesn't follow the book all that closely, but overall it had the same idea. It had some of the same events, but they didn't happen exactly like the book described them.
I've read the other shopaholic books and if you like the light/beach read, then these silly books are fun. But be aware...if you are a budget spender, she may get on your nerves!! Enjoy if you haven't already!

Happy Valentine's

I don't know about you, but I've been very spoiled today! Too much chocolate and goodies to do any good for me!
Here's my last project for Valentines that I just finished in the nick of time! I owe the inspiration of this to little birdie secrets (specifically this post-http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2009/02/hang-your-heart-on-garland.html), which has become a new favorite blog of mine to read. I just so happened to have the same book (ok so my mom has the same book) they were talking about, and the stuffed hearts were exactly what I needed to fill this apothecary jar. Now, they aren't hard, it was just a bit time consuming. Mostly the stuffing is what took a while, especially with the small hearts (there are two sizes and the large ones were much easier). Love it!

Valentine Cards

I got my cards back from the swap! And they are pretty darn cute I think! The first picture has some of my favorites.

The one with the sheep says 'Wool you be mine?' ha ha. Swaps are fun...you get to see other people's creativity which in turn gives you ideas! It's a win-win. It was a fun experience. I'm hoping some of the people who got mine were somewhat pleased (although I do know that some of mine were not so great).

New Pattern

I've been dying to get this pattern and it finally came! I can't remember where I first saw this, but once I did I couldn't wait to make a dress for Molly. I have the fabric, now I just have to get to work. We'll see if I can figure out how to make it. Isn't it darling? Seriously, I wish I could make one in my size...but you know it wouldn't look as cute on me. And actually the one I'm making is a bit different than this one, there are 4 patterns in this pattern, slightly altered from the picture here.
The designer is Sandi Henderson and this is her blog http://portabellopixie.typepad.com/

Valentines Runner

Thanks to Molly's three hour nap yesterday, I was able to finish this table runner. The credit goes to my mom for this one. She bought this litle "scrap bag" at a local quilting store that had all of these strips of fabric from this valentines line. It was her idea to do a little runner like this, with the hearts and buttons on each end and the ric rac. Wasn't it nice of her to share the rest of her fabric with me? I sure think so!

Up next (or at least on the list) is a spring/easter wall hanging with the swapped fabric I got!
