Foul ball

Last night Justin and I went to the Bee's game. Justin got some tickets from work and it happened to be military appreciation night which included a firework show! No wonder there were so many people!! Our seats were great and the best part was that Justin caught a foul ball! Literally 30 seconds before he told me he would catch me one :) We thought it was pretty funny.

The fireworks were awesome! We had to wait a bit for them to get ready for them, but it was totally worth the wait. They lost, but oh well! The rest totally made up for it!

A couple days ago I got my blog book from blurb.com that I ordered! It really turned out great. If you have any desire to print your blog posts, blurb is an easy and inexpensive way to do it!

Memorial Weekend

We were busy this weekend! We had a lot of fun.

The slip n slide was a huge success. It really wasn't as warm Memorial Day as it had been the days before, but Molly LOVED playing on it! The water was even cold, from the hose. She's braver than me!

Saturday morning we went to a bike race for my BIL at Sugarhouse Park. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved it and it was fun for the adults to watch as well.

If I knew P was in this picture, I'd tell you where he was. But I won't lie, I have no clue if he's in this pic or not!

And if you've never seen 5 year olds play t-ball, you are missing out! This was the best entertainment on a Friday night that I've seen in a while! It was so funny to watch all the kids hit the ball, then the other team scramble to get the ball. And over and over and over. The funniest part was watching the kids that had no clue they were playing baseball.

P helped the kids out at bat. Go Mitt!

baseball and fabric

So the inspiration for this comes from a new cookbook my mom bought called Paper Crafts Gourmet. It's a really cool cookbook with not only recipes, but cute ways to embellish and give the food away to others (if that makes any sense).

I was looking through it the other day and saw the cutest idea for a baseball game! We are headed to my nephew Mitt's t-ball game tonight, so I thought this would be a cute idea to give to everyone.

The little tag says Go Mitt!

This is Corn Pop Candy. Here is the recipe:
1 large bag corn pops
3 cubes butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 T. white corn syrup
5 T. water
Directions:
Pour corn pops in a large bowl; set aside. In saucepan, mix reamining ingredients. Bring to a boil; boil for 4 minutes. Pour over corn pops; stir untile completely cated. Cool and serve. These can be stored in an airtight container for several days.

So each person will get a drink and a bag with the corn pop candy inside.

Fun idea, don't you think?

And take a look at these cute fabrics! I picked these up yesterday from Elaine's Quilt Block. The two on the left are going to become a sundress for Molly. The polka dot will be the tie and the other will be the dress. I'm going to pair it with white leggings, darling, right?! I just had to have this fabric when I saw it.
And then the fabric on the right is Amy Butler and I'm using it to make a gift. It's actually finished, but you'll have to wait til it's been gifted for a pic :)

Finale

Did you see the season finale of American Idol?!! I know I'm late at posting this, but wow! I think it was their best yet, personally. The singers/bands they brought in were amazing and they were big names! I was really impressed. It was a very entertaining show to say the least. Kara and binkini girl, too funny. And of course Norman Gentle was there and was hilarious.

I can't tell you how excited I was that Kris Allen won!! The past several years I've always wanted the runner up to win, and it's so upsetting! But this year it finally happened! I bet he's probably still in shock. Did you see his face? I liked his song with Keith Urban, didn't you?

To all of you Adam fans, sorry, but you know that somebody is going to pick him up in a heartbeat and he'll have an album out soon. That's the great thing about the show. Most of the top 10 get picked up and their dreams come true too. It's a win-win (ha ha)!

Things I'm working on

I have a great big project I'm currently working on that I hope to have finished in 2 weeks! Yay! It's a surprise though, so if you don't already know what I'm talking about, you have to wait. Sorry! I hope it turns out!

I've also been working on a blog book. I've been using Blurb and its been awesome. I've just kind of been doing it here and there, but I think I will finally order it today. Last night I was working on it and Justin asked what it was. So I told him it's the blog book I had told him about (like a month before). He was like oh, that's cool! Well last month he thought it was lame, so I thought that was funny. It will be the perfect photo journal for us.

I want to make a camera bag for my new camera too, so that's another project. I found one on etsy that I like and I'm going to try to make it sometime this summer I hope!

And I'm still working on those stockings for Christmas. The cross-stitching on the one for Molly is complete, but I have to add all of the charms and I'm not quite sure how to do that yet! So I'm waiting for assistance I guess. But I did get all the materials for mine and Justin's as well. We'll see if they're done by Christmas, and I'm being serious!!

Lastly, my sisters and I are going to learn how to make those cute watches with beads. We have the watch faces and we are getting materials to make the rest. I'm excited to learn! My cousin is going to teach us and we can't wait.

I feel like I haven't shared many projects lately, so I guess that's why I'm telling you this! It's making me feel better :) ha ha! Oh and I have read a few books lately! Check them out: Under Currents by Traci Hunter Abramson (it's a series of 3 and I'm waiting for the 2nd book) and Hazardous Duty by Betsy Brannon Green. They're both by LDS authors and were much better than I expected! They're both kind of mystery/suspense/drama. There you have it! I'm done.

Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated 4 years of marital bliss! Ok, so that's probably not how I'd describe it, but I would tell you that I love Justin today probably more than I did 4 years ago (and I mean that in a positive way)!

We had a really fun day. It kind of felt like it was in slow motion, actually. Justin had the day off. In the morning we did normal, boring, every day things like I went to clean and he registered the car. Then we went on a tour of the U's law school campus, so that was interesting. After we all took a nap (which happens never?). A little later we dropped Molly off to a neighbor and went and saw Star Trek! It was really good! We aren't huge fans, but we still really enjoyed it. After we had dinner, and then picked up Molly. It was a fun day.

The triplets are doing well. Mckenna has bleeding on her brain, 3 out of 4 on the scale, which isn't good. Today the bleeding is at the same level, but they say that's good. Carly was taken off the ventilator she was on and put on a different one, which means she is progressing slightly. We can tell that we'll just have to wait it out and be patient!

Update on the triplets

Yay! I just got more info. Sunny was hemorrhaging last night and having contractions through the night, which she didn't realize. Early this morning she noticed the hemorrhaging and got to the hospital at about 6:30 am or so. She delivered the triplets just before 8 am. Their names are Madison, Mckenna and Carly. (I didn't check on spelling, so that's my guess)

Sunny will stay in the hospital for 3 days and the triplets for 3 months until their due date. Their apgar scores were 6 and 8 (for two of them) and 8 and 8, so I thought that was pretty good! I can't wait to meet them and hopefully everything will continue to go well with them.

The Zoo

Last weekend we went to the zoo for Mitt's birthday party. (Molly refers to him as "Mutt") It was a lot of fun. The kids all loved it.

Molly apparently wasn't quite sure where to look. But she kept saying, "whoa" with all of the animals.

The cougar! This is the whole reason for the zoo outing, according to Mitt.

There were 4 giraffes.
The bears were playing together.

Molly on the tiger statue.

She was done with her stroller about half way through.

Grandma and grandpa with the girls!

The train ride
On Mother's Day, after church, we went on a short hike to a small waterfall.

We were in the canyon where the Draper temple is located.

It was a nice, short, pretty flat little hike which made it all the more enjoyable :)

Triplets

Justin's sister Sunny delivered triplets this morning in Boise. We really don't know hardly anything at this point except that they weigh around 2 pounds each and are hooked up to all sorts of machines. Sunny was 27 weeks, so this is obviously much earlier than desired.

Justin's parents are driving to Boise and hopefully we'll hear more news soon. I know Sunny is doing well, so that's good.

Please keep Kyle, Sunny and their triplets in your prayers! I'll post more when I hear more.

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of you mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day! This morning Justin made me waffles before church :) and he spoiled me with a new camera! He sold both of our old cameras on ksl, so we definitely needed one! It's a Canon Rebel XS, our first SLR. We're excited to figure out how to use it, but we can already tell that the quality of pictures is WAY better than our old cameras!

New acquisition

I acquired an 8 gig ipod today! Courtesy of my sister Emily! Wahoo! I'm not really with it when it comes to ipods. I've borrowed Justin's shuffle a few times, but just haven't really gotten the bug I guess. And so you know, she just got an ipod that holds videos and stuff, so she's fine! :) Although I am still appreciative! She left all 844 songs on for me! (Or however many!)

I just took Emily and Zack to the airport. They leave for China tonight! She will teach English and he'll be working in a hospital. They were really excited and a bit nervous when I dropped them off (you know, it got a bit more real at that point!). I'm sure they'll have a great time. Good luck you guys! They claim they will be updating their blog/facebook in order to keep a journal, so you may want to check those out!

As far as law schools go, we have finally heard from them all and we are in the same spot. The plan for right now is to attend the U where we've held his seat. But we did get an email from BYU today saying that they let several wait listed candidates go, but they're still interested in keeping Justin on if he'd like to. Of course we said yes, but obviously we're unsure if a spot will become available.

Molly is totally into corn right now. I just fed her about 4 small bowls!! At least she likes one vegetable, right?! That's what I'm telling myself!

Nevermind!

Now you don't have to come over! Here they are. Thanks Karen!

Pictures

I've been meaning to get Molly's 18 month pics for quite a while now and yesterday I finally decided it was "the day". Unfortunately the Target nearest us is under construction :( so I called around and found that the kiddie kandids inside the Babies R Us by us had some openings. So that's where we went. I had never been there and they do a good job. Molly was pretty afraid actually because they put you up on this little 4 foot ledge and she wasn't so sure about it! The other bad thing was that I noticed her rubbing her eyes in her car seat on the way over. Not good when you want a cute, happy baby! After a while she was clinging onto me for dear life! She did not want to stand at all. The only way we got some good pictures was when she was sitting.

But it all worked out in the end. I decided that with fewer pictures taken, there were fewer pictures that I would want in the end. It was really nice waiting only 10 minutes for my pictures too; although they did add up really quickly and I didn't get that many. So that was the only downside as far as kiddie kandids went. Anyway, they're done and they are cute, but I don't have a scanner, so I guess if you want to see them you'll have to come over!
