It's a ...

Girl! The ultrasound tech said it's a girl. Then she said, see the white lines? So I guess that means she's pretty sure :) We're excited! We hope she and Molly will be good friends (at some point!) and it's nice that we have a whole bunch of girly stuff already!

As far as the water drinking went, I had to cheat because I thought I was going to die! I couldn't sit or stand or do anything, so I used the bathroom, but didn't totally empty my bladder and it all worked out just fine! There's no way I could have laid still for the exam if I was in the state I was when we arrived!

Last night we had our little gender reveal party in addition to celebrating mine and Todd's birthdays. We had everyone vote what they thought we each were having.

Then Nat and I each opened a gift! And there you have it--two baby girls coming in February!
Nat made these adorable little cake pops that were pink and blue but unfortunately I didn't get a pic! They turned out so cute! Thanks Nat! These outfits are from Becky. She was so cute. She brought gifts for our new babies. To cover her bases she brought two boy and two girl gifts just in case. She got us these cute outfits with matching bows. What a sweetheart!

Yum! We had chocolate brownie trifle for dessert! Thanks for your recipe Brooke!

The birthday kids. Todd's birthday was on Tuesday and mine was yesterday. It was a fun day! Thanks everyone for the calls, texts, gifts and birthday wishes!

In love

I made this skirt yesterday for Molly using this tutorial. I love how it turned out! Of course I melted the tulle in the bottom row the first time I tried pressing it...ahhh! So I had to re-do it, but it worked out because I wanted the tulle to be more gathered than it originally was. I definitely recommend her tutorial! I have an idea for the top, so that will be coming somewhat soon!

My ultrasound is at 4 pm today and I'm excited, but not looking forward to the 32 oz. of water I have to drink in a 30 min. period an hour and a half before the exam! I have no idea how I'm going to hold it in! And you'll have to wait for a post since my sister Natalie and I are having a gender reveal party on Sunday with our family! It'll be fun :)

Congrats!

Congratulations to Justin's brother Mark who just got engaged! He and Ashley have so kindly moved up their date from the spring to December so now I will be 8 months prego for the grand event! Lucky me ;) No, we are really excited for them and knew it was only a matter of time. Congrats you guys!

Congrats also to Justin's grandparents who just celebrated their 60 year anniversary! Wow!

Weekend Project

I wish I had something cute to show you that I did this weekend, but in all reality, this was one of those weekends that I felt like sooo much was accomplished!

Justin and I went through our storage in an effort to organize everything and to use things since we now plan on staying here longer than what we originally thought. Once we pulled all of our stuff out, we decided it was high time to organize pretty much the entire basement! Now if you have seen our basement, you know that my mom has storage in several rooms down here, which is understandable when no one is living here. It definitely wasn't easy, but after several trips to DI and the trash, we now have an organized basement! Wahoo!

A big big thank you to Justin, his dad and brother Scott for all of their help on Saturday. There is NO WAY we could have done all of this without you! They even sacrificed playing golf to do this--if you know them, you know that is huge!! Justin's parents have the most organized house of anyone I know, so when Val came down and had some "spare time" before the football game (the reason he came), we couldn't resist asking for his expert help!

I'm really bummed I didn't take a before picture because it's hard for you to see how really amazing this now looks! We couldn't believe that all of my mom's stuff plus all of ours fits in this room now! Before there were boxes stacked everywhere and there was barely room to fit through. We also managed to make Molly's so called room really look like a room now! It feels so nice.

State Fair

Yesterday we went to the Utah State Fair. My friend called and said that there was supposed to be a really cool bear show, so we decided to go. I texted Justin and next thing I know, he tells me he's coming home from school! It was 2:30, so this was obviously quite rare. We were glad he could come with!

The bear show was really cool! The bears are from Florida. Their names are Bruno and Bambi.

Standing on a ball
Riding a scooter
Um, his teeth! Molly was watching the whole time and seemed to enjoy the show.

Then we saw lots of animals.

Goats
Rabbits
Big pigs
And piglets
Then Molly and daddy went on a couple rides

We also saw cows, horses and pigeons. The kids all loved it. This was actually my first time ever at the state fair and my first time for funnel cake. Yum!

Relief

Thanks for your suggestions/condolences :) While I still have the dumb cough, the doctor told me I could try taking some benadryl or claritin and see if that helped. I also took the advice to get some Tylenol PM. I am happy to announce that the benadryl/tylenol pm team did the job last night! I slept the whole night straight through until Justin got up to go to the gym. It's probably been a week since I've done that! It felt pretty nice.

And I scheduled my ULTRASOUND!! It will be next Friday, Sept. 25th! I can't wait. My goal was to see if I could have it before my birthday and luckily I got my wish! Justin thinks we're having a boy (of course, because he WANTS a boy!) and I have no clue. What do you think??! My sister Natalie finds out two days before me what she's having.

Come On!

I am still dealing with a stupid cough! Yes, cough! My lovely hubby gave it to me along with a most severe sore throat. I lost the sore throat two days ago, but the cough now, which I thought wasn't as bad as the sore throat, has become EXTREMELY annoying! I thought on Friday that I was on the downhill slope, but no! Tonight I've been coughing like crazy. The worst part is that night is the worst for it. Last night I was up 3 different times having coughing attacks. I finally got some Robitussin tonight and I'm hoping and praying that that will finally kick it. The baby in my tummy must think that it's earthquake season or something!

I go into the doctor on Monday for my next appointment and I'm going to ask if there's anything else I could possibly do to get rid of this. We are also going to set up my ultrasound appointment then :) Can't wait for that!

Photo Class

I went to a Canon DSLR class tonight at Pictureline in downtown SLC. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it turned out great. I've had this new camera for several months, but I don't really know much about it! I wondered if the class would be over my head, but luckily it was all in lamens terms and I was able to understand about 95%. It was amazing just the few tips and tricks that we talked about and how it will make a difference. If you live in the area, you should definitely check them out. www.pictureline.com Just go to their website and click on classes. All of their classes are free and you can find one that works for you and the camera you have. You don't have to have a fancy camera either.

Swiss Days

This past weekend I went with my mom and sisters to Swiss Days in Midway. It was a lot of fun! And I was very proud at how little I spent since it's easy to find lots of things you want there! I bought a baby headband for a little girl that I thought was adorable (I have never seen stretchy grosgrain ribbon, it was darling) for whoever has a girl next! And then I bought some squeaky shoes for Molly that were on clearance. I'll give those to her for her birthday.

It was pretty busy on Saturday when we were there so we decided that a. we should definitely make it a tradition and b. next year we'll stay at my aunt and uncle's house in Midway the night before and be there on Friday! I think each year it gets more and more crowded there. Anyway, it was a nice day with no kids! Thanks to our hubbies who gave us a break.
