And then for fun, check out my Santa I got 50% off. Isn't he cute?
I just love him! He's my first Santa I'm adding to my decorations. In case you're wondering, yes! I did make the cute tree next to him :) My mom found a tree like this in CO recently and decided she could make one! So of course, we did! It's so simple.
You can make one too! Cut 4 different sizes of circles. Get a terra-cotta pot and paint it. Add some styrofoam and glue some moss in. Then add a tall dowel. Add a bow. Start with the biggest circles. I think we used 16, alternating colors. We used scrapbook paper in red, green, black, off white and old piano sheet music. Then we used 15 circles of the next smaller size. Then so on using one less circle each time and top off with a star! My mom found these stars at JoAnn's in the dollar area. The bottom part was open and we just put glue in and put it over the dowel. We added some glitter to 5 different circles around the edges (silver and red, alternating). You could make any variation and use it for any holiday!
Ok and then lastly here I have my apothecary jar. I broke the lid as I was getting the Christmas stuff out. Boo! But all isn't lost. I saw jars without the lids in a few stores, so here is mine. I've put candy in it in the past, but I decided to check out the dollar store for some ornaments. I was going to do red and green with silver or gold, but they didn't have enough of the red and green. I decided I had a lot of red and green already sitting out, so I went for the silver and gold. I usually don't get enough, so I had plenty left over this time! Too bad I can't take them back! Oops, didn't know about that rule! I'm sure I'll find another use. I saw a tutorial making a wreath...
I'm sure your house looks merry and bright too! Enjoy!
