Anyway, I think you guys are right! I think I will get a second opinion on my teeth! Here is the sad news. The dentist I saw all growing up was the greatest dentist! We all loved him (meaning my siblings and I). He was so funny and always happy and telling jokes, saying that I had the prettiest teeth ever and would I trade him teeth? Well last year he died of cancer. He was probably in his late 50s, possibly 60. It was so sad to our family. This dentist came to our wedding receptions! So I am sad that I can't go and see him, because I totally trust him. What's funny is his nephew took over his part of the practice (there are 3 brothers in the practice, all Dr. Black's if you know them) and it just so happens this nephew went to high school with me! He was a year older than me...Brian Black for those who know him. Funny huh? So do I go and see him? He seems like a newbie and do I trust him? I'm sure he's great and obviously has had all the schooling and everything but I wonder if I went to someone more experienced would the outcome be different? Thoughts? My parents go and see him and they've talked about how he knows me and my brother Ryan. So maybe that would be good because we actually know him?? I was never good friends with him by the way. Just knew who he was.

Let's just say that I was in awe with all of the comments I received on my last post about breathing treatments and the dentist! Aren't blogs so funny? You think you might get a lot of comments on a certain post and nope, not many. Then on another you think you will get none and you get tons! That's how I felt on this one!!

Commenting again.....totally go see Brian!!! I saw his dad Jerry until I got married and changed dentists. I think my entire family also sees Brian because Jerry is now a mission president. (Ashlee and her husband go to him too.) And, my little sister's friend had to go to him emergently at the Hillcrest/Brighton football game last year after getting her teeth knocked out cheerleading. He wasn't even her dentist, but her's wasn't answering that late at night. My mom called Brian at home and he met us at his office at 9:00pm....did a great job too! Good luck!!
I meant to say "got married and changed insurance".....I only changed because I had to. :)
I totally understand your hesitation about seeing a brand-new dentist. However, there is the argument that they'd actually be better because they have newer training with newer methods. I say go for it.
So sorry about your cavities...so miserable. I definitely think it's worth getting a second opinion. I wold try Brian, I think a newer dentist can be better because they haven't gotten lazy yet:)

I agree second opinions are totally needed here:) I guess I haven't been on the blog for a while but I love the new feet pic. And Molly just looks drop dead gorgeous in the sidebar...watch out dad in the years to come!
Okay, I just have to put in my two cents because I LOVE my family dentist. I mean, he is the greatest. He came to all of our weddings, offers his Park city condo to us. Even Anne drives from Stansbury Park to go go him. So if your insurance covers him, I would recommend him. His name is Dr. Gerritsen
