Today

This is what I did today.

I cleaned my tile floors!

The kitchen and the bathroom...that's all the tile I have, but it's enough that I really don't love to do it that often! But today was definitely the day. Because I clean for several other people and often clean their floors, I hate to do my own! But I sure love it when it's clean and my feet do too :)

Another exciting thing that happened today was I got my quiet book! I participated with 10 people in a quiet book swap organized by my cousin. It was really fun! We all designed one page and made 10 of it and sent it all to her. She then made covers for them, bound them and sent them back (isn't she awesome?!). Thanks Erin! I love the book and everyone did such a great job!

Here's what the front and back look like. Below are all of the pages.

Isn't it cute? I'm sure you wish you would have participated!!  And how cute is this? The card that goes in the pocket in the last pic says the following...

About the Artists...
We are ten beautiful women.
We have ten handsome husbands.
We have twenty perfect children (then she names all of them)
We come from five different states.
We created one amazing book.

Isn't that so cute! I love my book! Too bad it's not for me. I plan to give it to Molly for her birthday.

I've been meaning to write down a few fun things that Molly has been saying/doing lately, so I'll do that now.

Today I changed her diaper and she said, "thank you Mama!" How sweet is that? She has been so good lately about saying thank you all on her own. I will lay her down for a nap and she'll say thank you Mama!

She is not a big fan of Justin and I giving each other hugs or kisses. When she sees us she says, "Daddy, don't do that." She isn't big into sharing right now, so she likes to tell other kids that as well.

She likes to make movements and then have us copy her. She'll shake her head from left to right and say Mama! She wants me to copy her. And she goes around the room and has everyone copy her.

She loves her little bunny blanket and her bear.

She calls her binky a "bott". We aren't sure why because when we ask her to say "binky" she says it correctly!

She is a great napper. She takes her afternoon nap and it lasts 2-3 hours. When it comes to the sleeping business, I know we've lucked out!

She loves to give kisses and hugs and she loves to blow kisses and say mmmwa when she does it.

When you ask her if she's happy, she'll say (if she is) "happy" in a cute little voice. Then she has even made up a little song and she just repeats happy, happy, over and over again!

Recently she has developed a little trot/skip and she does it when she's excited or happy.

We love our little angel! Most of the time she really is so good, it's just the sharing right now :( that we are trying to work on! I don't know how long that lasts, but I hope she is done with that phase soon!

Bags

Yesterday we had a fun day with the girls! Natalie and Becky came over and we made trick or treat bags for our kids! I know you're probably thinking that we are super early, but they sold the panels at Jo-Ann's and they were on sale this week, so we knew we had to get them before they were gone!

I uploaded these backwards, but oh well. Here's the lining. They were pretty flimsy, so we thought that would help stabilize them a bit.

Here's the back of one. The panel came with two bags and they both had a different print for each side. So four different pieces.

The other backing.
Here is the "spooky" bag.

And the "jack-o-lantern" bag. Aren't they cute?! They also sold place mats and pillow panels that were cute. I bought a pillow panel so I'll have to post pics when I make that!

The next bag I made was for my camera. I wanted a cute bag and found one on etsy but didn't want to pay the asking price! This project ended up being A LOT of work! And I probably started on it like 3 weeks ago or so? Luckily I live with a sewing expert, so she helped me design a pattern that looked like the one I wanted. I used the home decor fabric to make it more sturdy and bought it at 75% off! Which is totally unheard of. I was so excited. And it's even Amy Butler! Way to go me :)  Here it is.

For the most part I am pleased. It' s still a bit flimsier than I'd like, but at this point I'm not going back!

Justin's new life

Justin has started orientation for law school this week. He begins classes on Tuesday of next week at the University of Utah. He is enjoying orientation so far.

On Sunday night they had an open house reception for all the new students (+ guest) at the U's museum. We walked around and saw all the exhibits and then they had some appetizers and such. We knew we weren't in Provo anymore when there were waiters walking around serving wine and beer! It was kind of funny to us! What a different culture than what we're used to!

Last night they had a picnic up in Millcreek canyon and families were invited. There were surprisingly more kids than I thought, which was good! They had the bbq catered and it was really yummy-burgers, salads, ice cream and brownies for dessert. Again they had beer but sodas and juice as well. They even had the numbers 2012 as pinatas that they let they kids beat. Molly had fun and was happy about her suckers she grabbed. I recognized one person there-Kass Wallin from high school, funny huh?! There are 130 people I believe in Justin's class this year. Today he gets his final schedule and then as of next week I plan to see him mostly at night.

It will be an interesting adjustment, but I'm excited for Justin and I think even though it will kick his butt, he'll enjoy the challenge!

Family Pictures

Today we got some family pictures taken at Target. I would recommend them if you haven't tried them. They send coupons all the time and they are the cheapest around that we've found! And you're bound to have at least one good one :)

A couple of family shots

Molly's cheeser face...For $5 they emailed all of the pictures to us so we could use them for: blogs, facebook as well as making a disc and keeping them on the computer. We thought it was a bargain deal!

Long time, no post!

It's been a long time! And I've been a blog slacker lately, so here is a longer post in 3 parts.

A

Out with the old...

In with the new!

Yep, it's a mac! Yikes! I have never owned one but they (employees at the bookstore) convinced us. Justin was buying a new computer for law school which meant that I needed one too (see first pic of old computer and it should be obvious...notice the v key and the 3 key are missing! and it's slower than slow and about what, 4 or 5 years old?). Since Justin will have his laptop with him all day, we figured it would be good for me to get one as well so I am "in the know"! I haven't even turned on the new one yet, but I plan on it today or tomorrow and figuring out how to alter my life to a mac. But I'm excited. They say they are better for pictures and doing things of an artsy nature and since I blog and want to get into photoshop, etc. I figured it would be good for me.

B

Earlier this week I went with my mom and two sisters to Thanksgiving Point's two dollar Tuesday which started Tuesday and was CRAZY!! But it was a lot of fun. We went to the animal petting zoo and also to the children's garden. The kids really enjoyed it. And we did too!

They had this indoor area where it was pretty much a play place for kids. The rectangular wood pieces were all sorts of different seeds and then they had the slots where you would "plant" them. It was a really cute idea and our kids all loved it! It seemed this was maybe the favorite part.

Here we are on a wagon ride. Nat and her boys were there and she was taking the pic.
C
The Watkins family reunion was last week and we had a lot of fun. It's always at my aunt and uncle's house which they are so gracious to host all of us each year! They have a pool and sport court, so they are the obvious choice for a big family gathering!
Todd and my dad were the best. They had our kids in the pool and hot tub while me and Nat sat and watched in dry clothes! Molly was loving it. She was probably in the pool for a little over 2 hours!

The reunion was indian themed and so all the kids got to make these little headress things with braids and have a parade as is the tradition every year.
So that's what we've been up to! For those curious, my SIL has 2 of the 3 triplets home. Well, they could all be home by now, I haven't heard an update, but it was maybe going to be the end of this week that the last baby could come home. Great news for their now large family!!
And Justin starts orientation in 2 weeks on the 17th! I think he is excited and will really enjoy law school. Oh and Emily and Zack came home from China! They had a great time and we're all glad they are back!
