Justin's birthday

Saturday was Justin's birthday. Here he is about ready to blow out his candle on his skor bar cake.

Molly blew it out before he had the chance!

On Saturday we were able to do some fun things! We headed to the park in the morning with the girls. After Ali's nap, we went bowling. The girls had a lot of fun!

My parents watched the girls and Justin and I headed to City Creek (the new mall that just opened a couple days previous in downtown SLC) to meet up with his brother and his wife. It was SO crazy!! People everywhere. There were lines to get into stores. But it was beautiful! They've done a great job. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory, then we rushed to watch the Hunger Games (our tickets were at the theatre by our house)!

We have both read the books and really enjoyed the movie! You need to check it out if you've read them! It was a fun day and I think Justin enjoyed it. Happy 29th Justin!! We love you!

It's Spring!

I realize I just posted about St. Patty's, but didn't take any pictures of the decor I put up. I added a couple things this year and next year I'll forget what I did, so I'm sharing it here. The additions are the doll and the table runner. I also have a large wood shamrock that I bought like 2 or 3 years ago! It's all painted but I can't remember how to attach the small clovers to it with the wire...ah! Maybe next year?!

Here's the shamrock I made last year. I think?

My subway art, courtesy of eighteen25.

I picked up this cute doll at Home Goods this year. I thought she was pretty cute!

She has shamrocks on her shoes.

And on her dress! For $10 I thought she would go well with my other decor.

My mom, sister Emily and I made these table runners this year while Emily was in town. My mom had bought the fabric and I asked, "where's mine?!" I went back and bought some and got some for Emily since I knew she was coming to town.

It's a really quick project. It's actually called the 10 minute table runner. But if you have ever sewed anything, you know that nothing is that quick! Just ironing and cutting it out can take that long. Anyway, it was still pretty quick. The colors are a bit muted in these pics.

Here's a close up, but it's not quite this bright! The fabric comes from JoAnn's. This had some gold flecks, so it was priced around $12.99, but I used a coupon so it wasn't too bad.

I have a copy of the pattern in pdf, so if you are interested, let me know and I can email it to you.

Here's my ever growing belly. 31 weeks today. I'm on the countdown! 9 weeks still kinda feels like a long time though, to me. Anyway, I'm still feeling pretty well even though I already flip from side to side every night a million times! I was recently put on iron pills twice a day and I think that does help a bit with my energy level, so that's good!

St. Patty's weekend

Justin had spring break last week so we headed down to St. George for a few days. We really enjoyed the 70 degree weather! Too bad it didn't last longer! We drove home with rain and snow. Boo.

We got the girls some sidewalk chalk that they had fun with (and really messy with!).

And cheetos were a big hit with Ali!

On St. Patrick's Day (Saturday morning), the girls found Lucky the Leprechaun's footprints!

They followed the tracks to see what he left...

Woohoo! They loved the Lucky Charms!

Here is Molly decked out in her green!

As a special treat, we convinced grandma to make her tasty marshmallow popcorn! Yummy!

We saw the Lorax and the girls were really good. Molly loves movies, so we knew she would watch, but Ali still isn't a big fan. She did surprisingly well! We were happy about that!

We ate here and at some other yummy places like the Bear Paw for breakfast. If you haven't eaten there, you need to! So delicious!! And of course we had to stop in at Christensen's. Always a fun place.

We had a great time and it was so nice of grandma and grandpa Pendleton to let us stay with them! We just wish we had more time!

Molly: before and after

Molly's hair has been getting "long like Rapunzel's" so we decided it was time for a haircut! Her hair has been so static-y and just in the way.

BEFORE. It has been a lot of fun doing her hair, but I decided I could still do it in many ways, but take off some length.

AFTER! Great Clips was having a $6.99 haircut sale, so we ran over and 6 inches later, this was the result!

Pretty cute, right? We like it. Molly does too.

baby blessing

After the funeral on Saturday, we drove to Idaho for a baby blessing. Justin's brother Mark blessed their first born, Paxton! Here is Mark and Ashley with Paxton in his cute little outfit.

Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton holding Paxton. He is such a good baby! We stayed with Mark and Ashley and he was always content and happy. This is grandchild #8 on the Pendleton side and the first grandson! We are thinking that our baby boy will be great friends with Paxton! The blessing was very nice and it was fun to see this side of the family. Thanks Mark and Ashley for letting us stay with you!

Grandpa's funeral

Last Saturday was grandpa's funeral and it was really nice. We figured that 37 of 42 grandkids made it to the funeral. We were quite the bunch! There were so many of us. We filled the entire front portion of the chapel.

Grandpa was buried in the Orem cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

The family picked out a beautiful blue casket for my grandpa. Blue was his favorite!

It was neat to see the 21 gun salute (I think I'm saying it wrong but I can't think what it is called!) and to hear the bugler.

BYU sent these beautiful flowers. In my aunt's talk she said if grandpa were there he would be sitting by these :)

 Almost made it to 100!
Our family that was able to be there. We dropped Alison off with a friend in Provo (thanks again Becky!) and Natalie left her youngest with family.

It has been kind of crazy having both grandfathers pass away 5 weeks to the day of each other (and at about the same time of day). It is always hard to lose a loved one, but we are so grateful and thankful for their lives and examples. We are grateful for all the memories we have with them. Being pregnant and at two funerals is not a good combination. I had way more tears than I would have liked and/or anticipated! I like to blame it on the hormones. We had a really nice dinner after the burial that the RS put on for us. It was a nice day for all I think.
