Yesterday we closed on our house! This morning it should fund, be recorded, and we get our keys. Yay! In a way it seems surreal. We are really excited. We are going to paint the ceiling white on the main floor this weekend (it's currently the same cream color as the walls), so the big move isn't until a week from Saturday. I'm sure it will feel real next weekend when we have all of our stuff there!
Our mortgage lender gave us a giant Great Harvest Bread basket with all of my favorites in it! Cinnamon burst bread, pumpkin chocolate chip (my fave!), honey whole wheat, jam, honey and chocolate chip cookies! Yes, we will take it for all of the document sending, crazy verifications we've been sending the past couple of weeks :) Anyone who has been through this process knows what I'm talking about. And now we know!
The realtor for the home has said that we are the 6th people to have this house under contract. She kept saying that there would be fireworks when we closed. As I was driving home last night I saw a whole bunch of fireworks! Really. I laughed to myself. I have no idea who or why they were actually having those fireworks, but it made me smile.
It looks like a mess constantly here with some boxes already packed and other boxes in a huge pile waiting to be packed. I've been slowly packing what we aren't using. We are getting there!

Decorating my home: pillows
Here is my first project for the house. My MIL gave my 3 pillows that she was no longer using. I took her covers off and added new ones to match what will be my decor in the new house. I still have more pillows to cover, but I figured I'd start here.
We are kind of going with yellow, blue and gray in the living room area. I covered these the really simple way. I cut 2 pieces, the same sizes (one inch bigger than my pillows all around; 1/2 in. seam allowance) and sewed them right sides together on 3 of the 4 sides. On one side I left it mainly opened, stuffed the pillow in, then used my sewing machine to sew the last side up. This is probably the quickest, easiest, fastest way. And I'm all about that :)
I spotted these 2 fabrics at Hobby Lobby a few months ago in the remnant section. I took a picture of the tags. I paid $4.04 for the chevron and $2.77 for the polka dot. My total for the project was $6.81. Not bad! Of course I did have the pillow forms, so that was a big savings. I'm glad I grabbed them. With fabric if you see it and love it, you have to buy it! You don't know if it will be there again! Especially on remnants. I didn't even know when we would find a house, but now I'm sure glad I grabbed them!
A hummingbird was flying literally 2 feet from me! I've never had one stay that close ever. Kinda fun. Actually there were 2. They were sipping on some nectar from all of my mom's pots.
I really like how quickly recovering pillows can change up a whole room. It's pretty simple and inexpensive too. There are a million tutorials out there of how to do all different kinds of pillows, including no sew.
More projects to come!
P.S. For any of you that shop at Joann Fabric, I learned a new tip! I was looking on their website and found some home decor fabric I like. It was 60% off, but I wasn't sure if that was the price in store as well. I called and they said it isn't, but if I print off the picture with the price, they will match it! I had no idea. Cool!
Visitors
We had the best visitors last weekend! My brother Ryan, his wife Becky, and their 3 cute girls all came from Colorado! We got to meet sweet Romy, who is 6 months old. I totally didn't get a picture! What is the matter with me? She is like a little doll. She still wears 3 month clothes. She is so cute and smiley.
My mom had a tea party for the girls one day. They loved it! No surprise there.
Shay, Molly, Grandma, Ali, Emery and Lexie.
My mom found these cute ballerina toppers at a flea market a month ago and they were perfect on the cupcakes!
Natalie (my sister) and her daughter, Emery came for the day to play too. Cute Emery on the left and Lexie on the right.
Aunt Becky was so nice and got these fancy glittery stickers for the girls to use as stick on earrings. They hadn't ever done this, so they thought it was pretty awesome!
The girls played pretty much 24-7. They had a ball! It's too bad we don't get to see them more often because the girls have the greatest time together. Lexie is 6 1/2, Molly is 5 1/2, Shay is 5, Ali and Emery are 3 1/2. I walked down to check on them at one point and Molly said all on her own when she saw me, "We are having the GOODEST time!"
We were sad they couldn't stay longer. They arrived really late Thursday night and left Sunday morning. Ryan got BYU tickets this year, so they went to Provo most of Saturday. Besides the rain, they saw an awesome and exciting game! Miss you guys already!

Pictures of the house
Ok everyone. I've had people asking for more pics of the house. Honestly, I was planning on putting them all up when I did the first post, but then I got worried that maybe something wouldn't work out and it wouldn't be ours. So if that happens, oh well I guess!
Here we go...
Come on in! To the left is a bedroom, full bath and coat closet. The stairs are on the right and straight ahead is the living, dining and kitchen all together.
Main floor bathroom.
Kid's bedrooms upstairs. Both are the same.
The kitchen. Double ovens, gas stove and a big pantry! I'm in bakers heaven :)
The laundry room.
The living room. Gas fireplace.
This is the master. It looks tiny here. The closet is to the right and the bathroom is opposite of the windows.
Kitchen pantry. Behind the door is another wall where the shelves continue. So excited about this!
Kids bathroom.
Another pic of the master bedroom. The closet is on the left and the door to the hallway on the right.
Master bathroom. Double sinks. Yay! Separate tub and shower. The toilet is on the left with its own door.

Here is the first bedroom by the front door. It will be the guest room, craft room, misc. room.

I guess I didn't really take a picture of where the "dining" area is. It's between the kitchen and the living room. The tile continues from the kitchen over to the living room where the carpet starts. Our table will go in between those areas.
We don't have a basement since it is on slab. The water table is too high here for basements. But we do have a 3 car garage which we will use for storage.
We are scheduled to close next Thursday and get the keys on Friday. We have some painting to do and then we plan on moving in the following weekend. We are excited! If anyone wants to come help us paint, let me know ;)

First lost tooth!
Last night Molly's tooth was hanging on by a thread. I actually posted it last night on Instagram. Then this morning while eating breakfast she said, "Ummm guys?" Her tooth had fallen out! She was sooo excited.
Now she has a cute, toothless smile :)
Jackson @ 15 months
We went in last week for Jackson's 15 month check up. He is doing great! He is such a happy boy and we just love the fun he adds to our family.
He loves his dogs. We got him 4 dogs from Costco for Xmas last year and they are his favorite! He sleeps with them and takes them places. He loves chewing on their noses.
He loves to point! He says, mama, dada, doggy, ball and his latest is go! Last night the girls were running around and Justin was having them race and saying, "Go!" Jackson would say go and start running. It's so cute.
At night when we say prayers, he walks over to the couch and lays his head on the side on the couch! Cute boy. He loves to give hugs and kisses and will do it on command to any of his family members. We love his snuggles!
15 month stats:
Weight: 21.72 lbs. 13%
Length: 31.69 in. 68%
Head: 18.5 42%
He is a mover and a shaker. He goes, goes, goes until we lay him down for bed or naps. He is still taking 2 naps, but if we get busy, sometimes it's one nap. He loves getting into cabinets lately and it's driving us all nuts! I have some cabinets locked up, but he is figuring out how to get into some of those too. Little stinker!

Sold
We are in the process of buying a new house! We are SO excited.
The exterior colors were NOT picked out by us. I want everyone to know that up front! Don't worry, we have big plans for it. We are set to close and move by the end of September! The home is in Farmington. We went from almost moving out west in the Herriman area to moving north to another county. We really didn't plan on it, but got convinced to take a look. It was hard not to like it when it cut what would have been Justin's commute in half and we each have a sibling that lives somewhat close by.
We think this will be a great place for our family. It has 4 beds, 3 baths and the floor plan is nice and open. We will put a lawn in next year! We are really happy we don't have to now. There is no basement since there is a high water table here. It has a 3 car garage, which will be great for storage.
After feeling like it was such a far thing off for us, it sure is happening very quickly! We will definitely miss my parents and our neighbors and friends, but we look forward to meeting new friends and neighbors! More pics to come....
