Jackson at 3 months

This cute little baby is 3 months old! I can't say enough good things about him. He is so happy and so smiley!

It's hard not to smother him in kisses all day.

I found these cute sandals and had to try them on Jackson. It is so nice having hand-me-downs! Thanks Nat and Ashley for letting me share! These are a size 0. Ha!

He he. This picture makes me smile :)

His cheeks and face are getting more round!

Today I was holding and talking to Jacks and just thought how lucky I am to be his mom. He smiles at me like I'm the greatest person ever and it makes me feel so good! Justin says he smiles the most for me and I secretly hope he's right!

The girls can get him to smile at them now and they are so excited in the mornings to come into our room and see him. I have started him on rice cereal (I know it's a bit early) since he pretty much wants to eat all day. We've just started, so he is still spitting most of the cereal out, but we are working on it! He loves to blow bubbles, so we keep a bib on him in the day. He is not a fan of tummy time, but I try to have him do it anyway! He is not a fan of the binky like the girls were. He will take it to soothe himself before falling asleep for a nap, but once asleep he usually pops it right back out after a few minutes. We can't say enough how much we love him!

Soccer!

We are cheering for #40! Molly had her first soccer practice and "game" on Saturday. She was really excited and slept with her soccer ball the night before :)

It was quite interesting watching all these little girls at their first practice. We saw tears, excitement, and nervousness for sure! I thought her coach did a great job. He was really patient and encouraging.

They played follow the leader with their coach and he led them around the lines and pointed things out to them.

She had a fun time and she's excited to go back!

Daddy helped out a few times during practice. Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton were in town and came to watch with us as well. Molly was excited to have some extra fans!

I'm not sure if she was more excited about the uniform and ball or actually playing soccer, but so far, so good!

Newborn pictures

Jackson will be 3 months old in a few days, but I'm finally getting around to putting these newborns pictures up that I took! He is 3 1/2 weeks in these. They change so quickly! These are some of my favorites.

Summer: family edition

My sister Emily (and her husband and daughter) was in town for 2 months this summer and just recently left to go home. Unfortunately her little Elise (18 mos.) and my Ali (2 1/2 yrs) didn't always get along so great :( but once in a while they were nice to each other and managed to have some fun, which I am documenting here!

We also had fun with this swing set. Emily put it up for sale on ksl and to make a long story short, we FINALLY got rid of it! It was quite the chore and the people who came to get it actually ended up sawing it down. Now we are waiting for my parents to decide what they want to do with the ground around where the new swing set will go (we already have one picked out). Knowing my parents, we won't get one til next summer, but we'll see! I hope it's before then so my girls can play on it!

Emily organized a half birthday party for Elise one day. The girls all made crowns, we sang, had yummy cupcakes and she got Elise a present. Who doesn't love to celebrate another birthday, even it's a half birthday?!

Ali drawing on her crown.

We also went to the state fairgrounds for some fun one day. There were tons of activities, free stuff and games.

The girls both went on a pony ride! This was very brave of them. First time for both of them!

The miniature ponies were so cute!

They got to ride on a train as well. They had a really fun time and we are all about these fun, free activities!

We still have a few more weeks left of summer. It has been interesting adjusting to 3 kids. I find that I don't go anywhere with all 3 of them very often, unless there are other people who can help out if I need it. But I definitely don't go to any stores! That is just asking for disaster.

Molly has gotten a bit bored at home and we are anxious for her to start school. She has been in love with legos lately. She really enjoys making cell phones with the legos :) I've thought about getting her some of the girl legos for her birthday maybe, but I wonder if she likes the boy ones that used to be my brothers better?!

Ali is doing pretty well with potty training. She still has accidents here and there, but I think overall she gets it. When I picked her up from the nursery at the end of church today, the teacher said she told her she needed to go potty and she went! I was pretty excited about that! I hope she will be good to go by the time I have to take Molly to school. She is still in love with skirts and dresses and often can be seen wearing no shirt and a skirt. Silly girl!

Jackson is a good baby. He eats a ton in the day and I often have to supplement with a bottle, but he is a great sleeper. Last night I fed him at 10 pm and he slept until 6 am! It was amazing! I think since he eats so much and naps pretty little in the day, he sleeps so long at night. I will take that combo any day! He also is looking more like a baby than a newborn and he is changing all the time!

muscle man

Since this might be the only time Jackson wears this swimsuit, I had to make sure I got some pictures of him in it! I found it last year at the Gymboree sale while I was pregnant and couldn't pass it up for $8!

Isn't it so cute? I love it. My little muscle man! My neighbor has a pool and invited us over, which we were happy to do!

Ali hanging out on a big chair!

Ali is also such a helper :)

Me and my little boy. By the way, Molly was here swimming, but she was busy and probably didn't care about being in any pictures. It is definitely tricky taking 3 kiddos swimming! Especially when I'm usually having to hold Jackson. But we make do so we can get out of the house.

Potty training is going pretty well. We have our good and bad moments still, but I think she's getting it. It's pretty nice to throw her in a swim diaper and not worry about it though!

Did I tell you?

Wonder why this little girl isn't wearing pants? Or I should say a dress (because that's all she will wear)? We are potty training. Yep. I know. We are crazy. Well I am. She has been wearing panties over her diapers for a few months and every once in a while would tell us she needed to go potty while she was wearing a diaper. Also, I caught her taking off her diapers a few times. So...I decided that even though I have a new babe, maybe it would be easier now why we are currently going hardly anywhere than when Molly is in school.

Today is day 5. We started on Monday. It was a bit slow going, but she's actually done pretty well yesterday and today. Yesterday she had one accident and even woke up with dry panties from her nap! Wahoo! I was thrilled. Today she had one accident, but she finished it on the potty. She is still sleeping as I write this (it's been about a 3 hr nap so far!!) and I'm guessing her panties will be wet, but we'll see. She has been wet every morning, but a couple of nights she did wake up to go. Molly was amazing with the nights. She wet her bed the first two days, then has been solid ever since. I was hoping the same thing for Ali, but not yet. We'll see how long she's wet before I give in. I just put a towel on top of her mattress and give her her blanket, then I wash them every day!

I hope by the time Molly starts school in a month that she will be pretty good to go. I know this process takes a long time, so I'm doing my very best to be patient with her. It is definitely harder with a baby, but Molly is a great helper and goes in with her when I'm feeding the baby.

Wish me luck! She hasn't been in a diaper since this past Sunday and I hope it stays that way! Then I only have to buy diapers for one :)

Jackson's quilt

Here is the quilt for Jackson! My mom made it and the quilt pattern is "Mama's Boy" by Thimble Blossoms. Justin and I picked out the pattern and fabrics. We love it! I wasn't thrilled with any baby boy collection of fabrics that is out right now, so we had to pick out everything ourselves. It was pretty tricky finding the right shades of blues and greens I wanted. But it turned out so great!

Man, was it hard to find the chevron fabric! Stores were out of it right and left and we had to wait a few weeks for more to come in in the colors we wanted.

This is the back. She used some of the leftover fabric and pieced the back.

 A close up.

She took it to a friend who owns a quilt shop that does all over quilting. They have like 300 designs to choose from. We chose this one that is circles or bubbles. I think it turned out so darling! I can't wait to hang it up by Jackson's things! The blue and green match the fabric bins in the changing table. I'm really pleased with it. Thank you mom!
