Birthday Shenanigans

Happy Birthday to me and google and my friend Kathryn!! And anyone else I missed! I have heard of two babies being born today too, so it's a good day!

We celebrated both mine and Molly's birthdays yesterday since Justin's parents were in town. Molly's birthday is October 7th, so it's a bit early, but hey, she didn't mind!

We are starting with the cake! Here it is.

(Please ignore the missing frosting spelling Molly's name. The kids were fascinated with the cake and oops! There went some of the frosting!)

Before you ask, no, I'm not that talented! This lovely lady, Amy, is the baker of the cake! She did an AMAZING job! Thank you so much Amy!

Isn't it to die for? I want my next hobby to be fondant cakes!

It was equally delicious! White cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. Yummy!!

I found a pin the tail on the donkey game at the store the day before and thought the kids would love it. Yes, it was a big hit! It used stickers, such a genius idea! (Target for $1.27 in the party area)

Then on to the presents!

Molly was so good. After she opened a present, we had her give a hug to the giver of the gift. She was very obedient and we know that's tough when you are so little and there are MORE presents!

She also had a little help from the other cousins :)

And back to the cake

She was so quick to blow out the candles after we sang! I had to have her do a re-do to get a picture!

She really liked the little crown on top of the cake.

Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton gave her a sleeping beauty costume and she had to wear that of course! She also got a magnetic princess dress up doll...and much, much more. She was VERY SPOILED. Thanks everyone for all of the gifts. You are way too generous!

Ali slept through most of the fun. We finally woke her up so she'd go to sleep that night!

The fun continued for us today. Justin made me breakfast (yesterday too!) and I met up with my sister for lunch with our kids. We saw her new house and went to the park! My mom is picking up Cafe Rio for dinner and I plan on watching Castle with my mom. Justin probably won't be out of class until 8 or after so we will celebrate this weekend. This past weekend we went to dinner with my parents, so we've been plenty spoiled!

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes/texts/calls from everyone!! I appreciate it! (Phew, sorry that was long, but it is MY birthday! Ha ha!! ;)

It's a Miracle

Molly ate chicken enchiladas last night for dinner for the very.first.time.ever!!!!

My baby girl finally rolls over! She did it yesterday for the first time.

I came in from the other room and saw her like this. She did it several times yesterday and this morning so now onto sitting up!
She rolls from her back to her tummy. She hasn't done the opposite way yet, but we are trying to teach her how.

This is Ali in the bumbo chair after she had some rice cereal. She just looked too cute.

Rice cereal

At Alison's appointment the doctor said to begin the solid foods (cereal and eventually baby food)! Last week we introduced rice cereal to Ali for the first time. It was a fun experience!

She pulled the faces we expected as you see here, but she really did quite well with it! I think she actually got some down! We slacked for a few days after first introducing it but we've been better the last few days and I can only hope that it will help her to sleep even longer at night!! 4 months was a turning point for me with Molly, I remember, since she finally went for a long stretch at night. Ali has been a better sleeper from the start (definitely better than Molly), but I can dream of uninterrupted sleep, right?!

First bike!

We decided to get a bike for Molly with spring hopefully coming anytime soon (please, please come soon!!). Justin set it up late one night and the next morning we brought her upstairs to see her surprise!

She was pretty excited. All smiles. We showed her how the seat opens up and she can put stuff in it and she sat down and turned the little key first thing.

A happy girl! Unfortunately her feet aren't long enough to reach both pedals, but that won't stop her from having fun on it anyway! She has learned to put her feet on the ground and push that way (thanks Major for showing Molly how you ride bikes like these!!).

5 years

Tonight we are headed to dinner. No other big plans. Justin got me a photography class for Mother's Day/our Anniversary and Justin leaves tomorrow for a golf trip in Coeur 'd Alene, ID with his brothers and dad for the weekend.

Blessing Day

Yesterday we blessed Alison.

These pictures were taken by the photographer I went to last month. I just didn't show you these ones yet :) The bottom one is a 10x20 collage that I framed and displayed yesterday. It turned out so cute! I'm going to hang it in her room.

It was so great having all of our family come (we missed Kyle who watched the triplets so Sunny could come) including Justin's grandparents and my grandpa Galbraith.

Here are some of the things Justin blessed her with that I remember:

That her most important relationships are with her Heavenly Father, the Savior, and her future spouse

To listen to her mother and her father; be close with her mom

To be friends with her siblings

To be patient with the trials in her life; he mentioned that she has already gone through trials very early in her life and that she was patient with those

To have a healthy body and quick mind

To find a spouse with a strong testimony

To find joy in keeping the commandments

Justin gave a beautiful blessing! I'm so grateful that he is a worthy priesthood holder and can bless our lives because of it.

We didn't take any pictures with our family since Ryan and Becky had to leave early and we had a family picture taken at Emery's blessing 2 weeks ago! Thanks to all of our family for coming (especially those from far distances! we were so glad you came!), for bringing food and sharing Ali's special day with us. We are so grateful to have her in our family.
