Molly's 6th Birthday!

Molly turned 6 on October 7th, this past Monday. Her request for breakfast was donuts. Specifically she wanted one with pink frosting. Well, Krispy Kreme only had orange frosting for Halloween, but she was happy with that!

I had this cute Happy Birthday sign in storage and hung it up. She loved seeing it when she came down for breakfast.
 The birthday girl!
Special hair on a special day.

The cake I made. I thought about buying one because life has been somewhat crazy, but I had a cake mix and we picked up a few things at the store and made this. She liked her polka dot cake.

Opening presents. She got this cute jacket from us and some other clothes. I love her fall birthday because I can save some of the school clothes for her and wrap them up for her birthday! Double win!

She got a doll that she named Mckenzie. Grandma Marie got her some clothes for the doll and made her a cute purple dress! I made the doll some pajamas and an outfit and totally forgot about them until my mom asked me about it right before they left. Oops! I told my mom that I'm turning into her ;) She has done that a time or two in the past and now I'm doing it!

My sister and her family got her this cute Hello Kitty stationary package.

Blowing out the candles! We had a fun, small little family party. My parents came, my sister Natalie and her family, and Justin's brother Scott and their family. We missed out on the rest of the family, but we saw them a week before at the move.

A big thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Pendleton who got her a new golf bag and a
couple more clubs! I should have taken a picture. She has been wanting a golf bag for a long time. Now she can go golfing with daddy next spring! Also, thanks to Todd and Emily who sent gifts as well. She loved everything she got!

At school she had a special sign on her table, got a Happy Birthday certificate from her teacher and they sang to her and another boy. She felt very special! I recently got a very nice email from Molly's teacher and wanted to share it here.

I have to tell you that Molly is an absolute delight to have in class. She is always on task and so willing to help others. That's a trait not often seen in someone so young. If she sees something that needs to be done or someone who needs help, she doesn't wait to be asked; she just does it. I have been happily surprised by her helping others many times. It says a lot about your parenting and her sweet nature. You should be proud!!!

Dear Molly,

We are so happy to have you in our family. We love how creative you are and you are doing really well at coloring and all sorts of things art related. You are learning so much and even though it can be frustrating to you at times, we know that you are smart and can do anything you put your mind to! You love to ride bikes, explore, and make new friends. You aren't afraid of things (besides the dark at night!) and love to try new things. You are a great sister and are very helpful to your mom and dad. You are obedient and do the things we ask you to. You are a happy and sensitive girl and very thoughtful of others. You choose to share things with your sister and brother all the time, without being asked. You weren't afraid or nervous at a new school. You jumped right in! We hope you have a great year!

Love, Mom and Dad

As a side note, I forgot to mention my own birthday. I turned the big 3-0! I'm so old, I forgot to mention it here ;) Or maybe my brain has just been on overload the past 3 weeks and I've gone to bed way later than I like!

We came up to the new house on my birthday (September 27th), the night before our move, and brought a big load of our furniture and celebrated with family. Most of Justin's family was here by then. We grabbed dinner at Costa Vida and they brought me a yummy red velvet cake and some ice cream. It was all delicious! Thanks everyone!

As you can guess, my birthday present was the house, which was the best present I could get!
