Christmas Eve 2013

Christmas Eve was beautiful! The sun was out and it was a pretty warm (high 30's) day.

It was the perfect day for making a snowman.

Or for daddy to make a snowman ;)

The kids loved being outside since we had plenty of inside days before.

Tada! All done. We had this cute snowman kit from my parents.

Jackson loved playing in all of the puddles.

And he even tried to make sure his buttons looked just right!

It isn't Christmas if you aren't baking, so we made several different kinds to distribute to a few lucky people ;)
The green cookies are called wreath cookies. I remember my Aunt Dixie making them sometimes. I love them.  They are so fun and festive. They are essentially rice krispy treats made with cornflakes and red hots. The girls had fun putting the red hots on, even though they didn't really like the taste!

We packed them up and walked them around.

We had a nice dinner as a family and then we read the Christmas story from the bible, sang some Christmas songs and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the animated version. It was the perfect Christmas Eve.
