Bless you!

One of the cutest things Molly picked up recently is saying bless you.

Nicole: Sneeze.
Molly: Bless you!

Molly: Sneeze.
Molly: Bless you!

Too funny! I heard her do this yesterday for the first time. I'm not quite sure when/where she picked it up, but it's so cute!

And I have to report that we had a near tragedy yesterday. I lost their dog! I had put her out in the backyard and then went to let her in a few hours later (she does have food and water outside, so I'm not totally horrible!) and she wasn't there! The neighbor boy came to mow the lawn and I think the dog got out while the gate was open. What's funny is that the parents told me that if the dog gets lost, the husband would be really glad. But they said not to worry about it because it's happened before. Well of course it happened to me. So she was gone for several hours. A storm started to come in and I thought shoot! It's this little dog and she'll be so freaked out! Well luckily the neighbors called and said they had her! We went and got her right as the rain started coming down hard. Phew!

Bored

I put Molly down for a late nap because she was being all whiny. I could hear her crying, but was hoping she'd fall asleep. Well I finally went down to check on her about a half hour later and found her bare bum and she'd peed on the sheet! Ha ha! She threw her diaper over the crib (well portacrib since we're not at our house)!! Ha ha! I was just laughing. She's never done that before! Now I usually put her down with pants on, but hers were wet, hence the no pants. I wish I had my camera!

Three new children

This week Justin and I are babysitting three kiddos in our neighborhood while their parents are living the life in Hawaii! We are staying at their house the whole time! It's going pretty well so far. Luckily they have camp M, W, and F from 9-3! So nice for me! Justin's helpful when he's here, but that's not often.

Yesterday we had a lot of fun at my niece Shay's 1st birthday party. The boys definitely livened it up! We were short on family members, but I don't think anyone noticed with the addition of 3. They are pretty good kids, but bedtime is a bit rough and mornings :) as you can imagine. And one good thing is that they are really good with Molly. They love to play with her and hold her and help her, so that's nice. But I will say that I'm glad they come one at a time (usually)! Too bad we don't get a week in Hawaii when we're done!

Thanks

Well, everyone is so nice that commented on my hair! And honestly if you didn't like it, you could have told me!!

I was just ready for a change and sick of drying and straightening my long hair! So I found a cute short haircut I liked and took the picture in and asked if it would work on me. Anyway, it's a lot of fun. It's totally different and I figured if I hated it I could grow it out all summer long.

Next week we are babysitting three kids ages 5, 8, and 10 for the week while their parents go on vacation! It should be an interesting experience!! :) No, it really shouldn't be bad. We've watched them before and they really can do pretty much everything on their own, which is nice. We'll see how we do!

Prayers

Molly has learned to fold her arms when we say prayers and to say "amen" at the end. It's so fun! Today I was feeding her lunch and all of the food was on her tray and I was saying okay, go ahead and eat and she looked at me and folded her arms! Oops! I forgot to say the prayer! It's amazing how quickly they catch onto things.

A few of her new favorite words are: cookie, happy, dis (this), papa, and cute. And she still loves to say her cousin's name, Shay! Too funny. We catch her all the time talking with Shay Shay.

Boise

We had a fun time in Boise this weekend visiting Justin's sister Sunny and her husband Kyle. Most of Justin's side of the family could be there and we had a good time. We had the trip planned a few months back and the original reason was for the annual Pendleton Memorial-Justin's family tradition of playing golf every year. Since we thought Sunny would be on bedrest still, we chose to have it in Boise. We were lucky (in one sense) that the triplets were born so we could see them while we there.

Here is a picture of the room where all three girls are. The third incubator is back behind the nurse.

These are the diapers they wear! Can you believe how small they are?!

The triplets continue to do well. It was so crazy to see how tiny they were and that they could actually move and function!
Here's Carly.

This is either Madison or McKenna.

Carly again. I can tell Carly because she is the only one on a different device into her nose than the others. I'd probably explain it wrong, but she is on what's called a cannula.

Me and Carly.

Outside the NICU they have a little play area for kids that was perfect for Molly. So we just took turns having someone watch her while I went and saw the babies. I have never seen babies so small! But they are starting to get little personalities and they have gained a few ounces so far. Carly has gained the most weight so far and that will continue as they eat more. They sure were precious, even though they were so small!
Molly found a little activity mat for the triplets in the corner of their room. Since they don't have kids yet, they didn't really have any toys. Poor Molly got bored a few times, but she sure was happy to come home and see her toys! It was like Christmas!

We went to dinner at a chinese place one night and they had this little chinese statue guy and Molly was so excited to check him out because he was the same size as her!

And here is the unveiling of my large project! I made three quilts for the babies! I finished them right in time and Justin brought them when he drove up. Molly and I were fortunate to fly to Boise!
Here's a close up of the blocks. Her colors in the nursery are pink, blue and green.

Here's how I "wrapped" them.

I used primarily the really soft minky fabric, and then some flannel, cotton and chenille as well in the blocks.
They are all the same except they have a different border color. So here's the green one.

blue
and pink!

Here's Sunny with the quilts. She can't wait til her babies are the same size and she can hold them all like this! :) It's nice to finally have these done!

And finally I must tell you that JUSTIN won the golf tournament! It came down to the very last hole. He and his dad were tied, but he won! He was pretty excited. This is the first time he's won in years. All of his siblings played golf in hs except for him, so he sometimes feels at a disadvantage but he's gotten better lately and was finally able to prove it! Now he has bragging rights for the year.

Seriously?

Does this ever happen to you? Right before you have to go somewhere you can't find your wallet? Or keys or whatever? Man, you'd think adults would have this silly game figured out!! Not me I guess!

Molly is napping and we are leaving for Boise in a few hours on a plane. So of course my wallet is MIA!! I searched everywhere--our whole floor, upstairs, out in the car, etc. I have been racking my brain for the last hour trying to think where it could be since I had it just last night! I searched drawers, through Molly's things, in garbages and nowhere!

Then I finally had a break through. Last night I was delivering invites at the apts nearby and I remembered that I put it in the middle compartment thingy! Ahh! Why do I do things like that? Of course I won't remember by the time I get home. Needless to say, I was just to the point where I was going to panic! And I had a headache before all this happened (sigh). I think it's time for my nap!

Bag

Alright, here's what I made with the Amy Butler fabric-a bamboo handled purse.

And this is the lining.
The tutorial came from Little Birdie Secrets. Here's the link: http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2008/10/chic-and-easy-bamboo-handled-purse.html
I will admit that it didn't go quite as smoothly as they claimed, but I guess that was my fault since I didn't use a heavy weight fabric like they did, hence the lining. But I think it's cute! Next time I will use a home decor fabric instead of cotton!

First Haircut!

Today I took Molly to get her hair cut at Great Clips up the street. She was very good! She just sat in the seat and didn't turn her head too much, so it went well.

I just had her trim it really, so it was even. I want to grow out her bangs, so she just made those even too. She even got a sucker!

You probably can't even tell it's cut, but here it is! (The balloon is from the grocery store)

The back. I wanted to make sure it would still work in pigtails.
